In addition to our funeral service operation, we also provide a medical transport service and a monument sales and service division to better meet your needs.

Our handicap-accessible facility offers a warm atmosphere and is located on a one-way street to offer additional parking.

History

When our firm was originally established in 1913, it was operated under the basic principles of compassionate service to area families in their time of need.

The firm’s heritage brings nearly a century of continuous service in the Ogdensburg area, first as McGillis Undertaking Parlor, then McLellan Funeral Home under the ownership of the late Archibald McLellan, followed by Dennis “Ted” McLellan, who continued the operation of the funeral home for many years.

Generations of service

In 1955, the firm was renamed Fox-McLellan Funeral Home under the ownership of the late Charles T. and Dorothy E. Fox. They operated funeral homes in Heuvelton, Lisbon and Hammond, New York. Their son, Richard, joined the firm in 1967 and purchased the business in 1979.

Richard and his partner, Kenneth J. Cole, operated the firm until 1999 when funeral directors Richard and Sandra Fox retired. Mr. Cole retired on disability a short time later. David J. McLellan, the 3rd generation of the McLellan family, assumed the position of licensed manager at the firm.

The funeral home today

With the retirement of the McLellans in 2005, the funeral home’s name was changed to Fox & Murray Funeral Home and is now managed by Patti Murray and her husband, David.

Over the years, additional services were added to the business known today as Fox & Murray Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Today, we are proud to be a Dignity Memorial provider.
