Biography

Funeral services for Elizabeth M. Davenport age 70 a resident of the United Helpers Nursing Home and formerly of Riverview Towers in Ogdensburg will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 12:00noon at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Schirmer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Calling hours will also be held on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Davenport passed away Saturday (July 3, 2010) at the Nursing Home.

Surviving are her four daughters Brenda Mahoney & her husband William of Canton, Barbara Davenport and her companion Rick Dominie of Ogdensburg, Jodi Zanker & her husband Clark of Ogdensburg and Vicki Kirkpatrick & her husband David of Gouverneur; a brother Donald Brown & his wife Donna of Rensselaer Falls; 8 grandchildren James, Clark “CJ”, Mistyrea, David, Justin, Matt, Daren & Nicole; great-grandchildren Billie-Jo, Ransom, Quinton, Jaimee-Lea, Mikayla, Lizzie and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Two sisters Bonnie Holmes & Barbara Paige predeceased her.

Elizabeth was born on February 29, 1940 in Ogdensburg, NY a daughter of the late Robert & Hazel (Griffith) Brown. She graduated from Ogdensburg Schools. A prior marriage to Donald Davenport ended in divorce, but she later found happiness with her long time companion Woodrow Graveline until his death in 1982.

She was a member of the ladies VFW auxiliary and women of the moose. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, shopping and spending time with her grand & great-grandchildren.
